Practical tips for Vienna-travelers

Drink water

All over Austria water is safe to drink. In hotels, pensions or even from fountains in the streets. Exceptions are signed. "No drinking water" in german is "Kein Trinkwasser". Often there is a sign with the symbol of a crossed-out glass. In the Vienna woods (Wienerwald) it is recommended - if ever - only to drink from a water-pipe. For dogs You may consider to take a water purifier to sterilize water, but think, is that really necessary in a big city or in Vienna woods.

How much water to drink / How much water should I drink each day?

Humans need approx. 9 cups of fluid per day in form of beverages and food. Food contributes approx. 50% of this. If You sweat You should drink more. To drink enough water one liter mineral water a day should be enough.
