How to Use Ezine Articles to Promote Your Business

You're missing out on an easy way to promote your business if you aren't already submitting articles to ezines. It won't cost you any money, and yet it's a highly effective strategy for increasing your profits.

The following are some benefits of having articles written by you published on-line:

Resource Box Exposure:

This is basically free advertising. When you submit an article, publishers not only allow, but request that you include some background information. Often called a resource box, you can include information that helps you brand your business, web site, and yourself. At a minimum, the resource box includes your name and business name and your web site address. You can also include your credentials, email address, a tag-line, etc.

Inbound Links:

Via the resource box, each time your article is published with a live link to your web site, that is one more inbound link that helps your site with search engine ranking.

Establishing Credibility:

Having published articles helps establish you as an expert on the topics you write about. With credibility, it is far easier to gain a prospective client's trust. With trust, you increase the likelihood of the prospect making a purchase from you.

Pre-targeted Audience:

The people on the ezine publisher's list are voluntary subscribers. Your article and business information is therefore being sent out to people who are on the publisher's list because they are highly interested in the subjects of the ezine. They are a pre-targeted, receptive audience. Maximize this effect by submitting your articles to several ezines.

Exposure:

In addition to sending your article to their list of subscribers, many publishers also place articles from the current ezine issue on their home page. And later, they often archive the articles. Visitors will refer to the archives before deciding whether to subscribe. In this way, the exposure you receive from each article goes beyond the mere publication date.

Leverage:

Any article can be used for multiple purposes. That's leverage. Some possibilities include using an article as the platform for a presentation, or expanding the content to create a special report or ebook. Of course, remember to publish the article on your own web site, which is good for many reasons, including the fact that search engines like to see additions of content.

Viral Marketing:

Allow ezine publishers to include your articles in their free ebooks, as long as your resource box is included. Since these are being given away, your ad multiplies. As well, submitting articles to publishers that have a free content directory on their site will allow visitors to republish your article intact, again multiplying your exposure.
If you could benefit from any of these seven reasons for writing articles, then the time for action has arrived. Go to any search engine, and type in a phrase something like: ezine publishers. You could narrow the search by including the topics you'd write and include the word fr`ee.

After you have found some publishers, and you know that there's an audience out there for your topics, write an article. You can help your chances of getting published by taking a look at other articles in your selected ezine editors' archives. And of course, proofread your finished article. Remember, your intent is to establish credibility and to brand your business favorably. A well-composed and polished piece of writing will go far toward accomplishing that result.

After you've published your first article, you'll want to do it again. Continue to spread the word all over the internet about you and your business.
