There are individuals, such as professionals and business owners, that
are willing to invest their money in a risky business. Although they are hard
to find, they can be an excellent source of revenue. Their requirements are
many and differ from Angel to Angel. Typically they look for the following.
- A product or service that they really believe will take off. More
than likely they have had experience in the particular market. The best way to
find an Angel is to find a business owner or former business owner in the same
industry you are trying to market to.
- The fact that you have the experience or capability to pull this off.
To them ideas are a dime a dozen, and most not worth the paper they are written
on. If you cannot convince them (with test marketing results), your chances are
fairly slim.
- The business is capable of paying all bills - including their high
interest rate (15% - 25% and more). Some may also want an ownership position as
well.
