According to the drafts of the architect Fischer von Erlach should emerge at this point at the hill the castle Schoenbrunn. Instead of it this classicistic building in the year 1775 was constructed as monument of war with triumph-entrance and generous stairways. The park was watered by two Gloriette-ponds. In the World War II the Gloriette was damaged heavily and was restored after the end of war. Inside there are plastics of B.Henrici and a trophy-group of J.B.Hagenauer. The Gloriette is one of the sights of Vienna. Today inside there is a coffeehouse.
