The gothic church constist of three parts and was constructed in 14th century (ended approximately 1350) by the Minorit Fra Giacomo from Paris. The top of the tower was shot by the Turks at their siege of Vienna in the year 1683. The mainportal is by Jakobus von Paris (1340). The late-baroque organ is by F.v.Hohenberg. Remarkable is the painting "Gloria of the holy Nepomuk" by B.Altomonte from 18th century. The mosaic-copy of the Leonardo Da Vinci painting "The holy supper" is by Giacomo Raffaeli (1806-1814). More paintings are from B.Altomonte, Daniel Gran and Johann Hauzinger. During construction work for subway (line U3) on January 10, 1986 the workers found stones of a gothic chapel called Ludwigs-Kapelle under the square Minoritenplatz.
