The outer diameter of the wheel is 55.78m, the internal diameter 49.68m. The axis of the Riesenrad is 10.87m, 0.5m thick. The weight of the wheel totals 244.85t, The whole wheel totals 430.05t. The gondolas drive with a speed of 0.75m/sec (corresponds to 2.7 km/h). The amount of the gondolas changed: 30 gondolas in 1944, from 1947 only 15 cars, because of security-reasons. The gondolas are numberd 2, 4, 6, etc. up to 30, since 1987 the gondola No. 30 is a Luxury-gondola.
