The oldest church of Vienna was found in 740 p.Chr., constructed with Roman stones at the eastside of the Roman wall of the castello. First documented in 1161. The square tower of this romanic church was enlarged twice in 12th century. The romanic stonealtar is still in the church, on it the the internal high altar, containing a baroque tabernacle, a wooden figure and a romaninc table, is contructed. At the chorus-window there can be seen the oldest glass-paintings of Vienna. On the westwall a picture of Adam Braun from 1782. Worth mentioning is the balustrade at the organ from 1439.
