Hannes Puchsbaum was foreman of architect Peter von Prachatitz until his death in 1429. The new architect Hanns Prachatitz did not like Puchsbaum. But Prachatitz's daughter Mary fell in love with Puchsbaum and he loved her. The architect agreed to a marriage, but Puchsbaum should finish the northern tower in record-time. So Puchsbaum signed a contract with the devil. Devil agreed to help Puchsbaum, but Puchsbaum never should call a Saint's name until the tower was finished. One day his love came along and Puchsbaum called her name. Now Mary is not only a Saint's name, it is a special Saint. The devil heard this and pushed Puchsbaum down from the scaffold. He northern tower never was finished.
